The City of Kennedy is serviced by a highly trained volunteer fire department. The department is equipped with the current firefighting equipment and continues to upgrade as technology continues to advance. In addition to the fire department, Kennedy hosts an excellent first responder squad which consists of several community members. The first responder squad services the City of Kennedy and surrounding townships as well.Kennedy Fire Department

Year 2013 in Review
The Kennedy Fire Department continued its focus on responding to calls and updating equipment and training during the year 2013.
- We answered 16 calls without incident, including five structure fires, three grass fires, three emergency medical services calls, one downed power line, and four calls to Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center. Included among these were mutual aid calls to both Drayton and Lancaster.
- We purchased a new portable light tower to enable better visibility and a more efficient fire suppression operation at poorly lit fire sites. Also purchased this year were updated portable and dispatch radios. The new radios have eliminated the need to go through one central dispatch, allowing our department to communicate directly and efficiently with other area departments. And, newly purchased foam guns facilitate better fire suppression at vehicle fires.
- We attended “Grain Bin Evacuation” training and department-wide fitness tests were also completed
The Kennedy Fire Department continues to strive to meet the safety needs of our community and the surrounding area. Our success depends, in part, on the financial support of others. We ask you to consider making a donation in any amount today. Make checks payable to the “Kennedy Fire Department” and return to the above address. Your donation is tax deductible.
Thank you for helping to sustain this essential community service.
