The insurance claim on the ball field grandstand has been received, as were the new bleachers and shade structure. The bleachers assembly job is pending and still planned for 2013 completion, therefore assuring readiness for the Spring 2014 baseball season.
NOTE: Engineering on a lumber structure replacement was time and cost prohibitive. And, without engineering, structure integrity, safety and insurability becomes problematic.

In 2011, the City of Kennedy reported a total of $3,038 in delinquent water bills, $1,511 in long-term, inactive account delinquencies, and $1,527 in on-going, active account delinquencies. At that time, the council voted to change the water bill payment policy and has since successfully collected $2,055.34 in past due accounts.

The City shop paint job was completed before the cold and rain arrived. The resulting improvement in the shop’s appearance has been commented upon and appreciated by many area residents.

Another step the City is taking to improve life in Kennedy is the effort to bring the same program to Kennedy that brought $750,000 to Hallock for owner occupied housing rehab.
