Use of Community Center for Storage Policy

Due to resident’s request to store items in the community center building, the following policy has been implemented to define the use of the facility in the City of Kennedy.

      1. An Affirmation and Liability Waiver must be signed prior to placing any items within the structure.

      Storage will be allowed during the months of November 1 – May 1. Storage will be on a first come, first serve basis until the facility is at the maximum storage capacity. The placing of items to be stored will take place for one week to be determined by the Maintenance Director. The removal of items will take place for one week to be determined by the Maintenance Director. A two week notice will be given to interested parties prior to the event of placement and removal.

      The following fee schedule defines what can be stored in the facility. Payment of services must be rendered prior to placing items in storage. All items must be clean and measures taken to prevent the attraction of rodents. Fees are as follows: $250 per item for farm equipment (such as tractor, combine, terra gator, floater), $150 per item for combine headers, $100 per item for farm trucks, $50 per item for recreational vehicles, cars, boats, and any other large items; $15 per item for riding lawn mowers; $7.50 per item for push lawnmowers. The fee covers the storage season that runs from November 1 – May 1.

      This policy is subject to change as determined by the City Council of Kennedy, Minnesota. Written notice will be given to all interested parties prior to changes taking effect. The fee schedule will be reviewed on an annual basis.

      Any other items to be stored in the facility will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the City Council of Kennedy, Minnesota.
